Unwanted hair can be embarrassing for both men and women. There are hundreds of products out there that claim to remove this hair but most of them are a waste of your money. There are some legitimate ways to remove unwanted hair. Some of they are painful and some of them are quite expensive.
Shaving is a very tradition way to remove unwanted hair, but you can’t do that in hard to reach areas such as the back. Your skin can also become very irritated if you shave too often. To make the process more effective use a lotion or soap as well as a sharp blade when you shave.
Waxing is a fast and inexpensive way to remove unwanted hair but it can be extremely painful. The more tender the area is that you want to remove hair from the worse it will hurt. The stomach is a common place men and women want to remove hair from yet this area will hurt to wax. Waxing lasts several weeks or even a month before you will need to do it again. It does slow down the growth of the hair though.
Plucking the unwanted hairs out is very painful as well. This method can be time consuming and it won’t work well for areas where you have a lot of hair. It does work well for hair in the nose and ears as well as the eyebrows.
You can seek professional assistance to have your unwanted hair removed by laser treatments. This is very expensive but one of the few ways that will result in the hair never growing back again. Many find that perk only a great incentive to procedure with the laser treatments for hair removal. This is a great option for women who want to remove that hair growing above their lip permanently.
The method you choose to remove unwanted hair will depend on your pain tolerance, the amount of time and effort you want to put into the process, and the amount of money you are willing to spend on the products. Since everyone is different their body will react differently to the various hair removal methods and products. You might have to experiment to find the right option for your hair removal needs.

The Benefits Of Tumescent Liposuction
By Bobby Ryatt
Liposuction is a basic procedure many patients turn to when they are trying to get rid of excess fat accumulation. Often when diet and exercise fail, liposuction seems like an appropriate method of weight loss. Critics will tell you that liposuction is useless if you can’t change your habits, but many people find that liposuction gives them the boost they need when trying to reduce their weight.
Liposuction is a basic procedure that requires an incision and the insertion of an instrument called a cannulae. The cannulae is then connected to a vacuum like machine that will literally suck the fat right out of a person’s body. Liposuction hit its popularity in the eighties and many still swear by it today.
Those who have experienced tumescent liposuction report positive reviews of the entire experience. In fact, in 2004 The Dermatol Surgeon reported the highest satisfaction rates ever in the cosmetic surgery industry reporting a 91% satisfaction rate. This is nearly 30% higher than the highest satisfaction rating of traditional liposuction.
Body Sculpting
Body sculpting is any medical procedure that alters the natural shape of the body for a more favorable shape. Body sculpting has become one of the primary focal points of cosmetic surgery, and the advancements in which it has accrued are really quite remarkable.
When asking your surgeon about any body sculpting procedure, he should be well up to date on the least invasive procedures as well as those that produce the best results. Body sculpting is considered an art form to many surgeons, and they take great pride in the results. Any proficient surgeon should offer to show you before and after photographs of their work. These photographs should not include models or specific areas covered by clothing. Most patients that felt their surgeon did a quality job and had a relatively stress free experience will agree to before and after photographs.
Risks of Liposuction
All surgery carries at least some amount of risk. Any time a person undergoes anesthesia, there is always the risk of complications and death, depending on how your body reacts to the anesthetic.
Liposuction comes with its own set of risks including things like bleeding, skin irregularities, dimpling or lumpiness, loose skin, or infections. For the most part these side effects are correctible if they occur and usually even without an additional procedure. Liposuction has been through numerous enhancements and continues to improve to minimize the side effects associated with liposuction.
Surgery of any kind will come with a certain amount of pain. Although the pain associated with liposuction tends to be considered minimal, your pain tolerance may be higher or lower than the set standard.
You can increase your risks of complications by choosing a surgeon based on price. Most often the lowest priced surgeon is not qualified to do even simple procedures. The surgeon’s reputation is tarnished in the community so he recruits business by underbidding his competitors.
Even with basic procedures take the time to talk to other surgeons, nurses, and people who have cosmetic procedures or body sculpting performed. Thoroughly investigate the history of any surgeon you are choosing to do any form of reconstructive surgery. It is, after all, your body. Saving a few bucks isn’t worth the risk you run with an incompetent surgeon.
The Benefits of Tumescent Liposuction
Tumescent liposuction is considered a remarkable improvement in the standard of liposuction. It carries fewer risks and side effects. The side effects are minimal in comparison due to the smaller size of the cannulae and the initial injections used for the procedure. Tumescent liposuction has been as close to perfected as a cosmetic procedure can be perfected.
The tumescent liposuction procedure does not require the patient to undergo general anesthesia. This alone significantly reduces the side effects associated with anesthesia such as grogginess and disorientation. It also eliminates the side effects of seizure and death associated with general anesthesia.
The healing time for tumescent liposuction is reduced due to the small size of the cannulae and a large injection of epinephrine. The bruising and bleeding that accompanies a liposuction procedure is significantly reduced, and the risk of skin irregularities is dramatically reduced. Of course, risks still apply as they will with ant cosmetic procedure, but tumescent liposuction carries a much lower risk of side effects.
Tumescent liposuction has a faster recovery period with fewer complications than traditional liposuction. Most patients can be up and walking and returning to work within a few days. Physical exercise is typically acceptable after only about a week, instead of the two to three week period associated with other forms of liposuction.
Most surgeons who perform cosmetic procedures are well acquainted with tumescent liposuction, so finding a capable surgeon should not be an issue. Although tumescent liposuction is considered the best, it is really not all that new and cosmetic surgeons have embraced the procedure and its reduced risks of side effects.
Understanding the Tumescent Liposuction Procedure
Tumescent liposuction is a relatively simple cosmetic procedure. The patient is injected with a local anesthesia and is awake through the entire process. A large amount of saline and epinephrine is injected into the affected areas to be liposuctioned. Epinephrine makes the capillaries smaller. This in turn reduces bleeding which also reduces swelling and bruising.
A small incision is made in order to insert the cannulae. The incision for a tumescent liposuction procedure is much smaller than traditional liposuction incisions which reduces healing time as well.
The cannulae is the attached to a vacuum machine which sucks the fat right out of your body. The incision is then closed and an elastic compression sleeve is applied to the area to help the skin contract and speed healing.
After being assured that there is no bleeding and the patient is ready, the procedure is over and it’s time to go home. After just a few days of gentle movement around the house the patient can return to work. After a week the patient can exercise and any of the side effects that may crop up are easily correctable. It takes about a year for any surgical scar on the body to fully heal.
Any form of body sculpture is likely to have mostly positive results. Remember that you are altering the body’s natural appearance and it will take some time for those results to appear. The healing process, however quick it may be is one to be respected and honored.
Finding out More
As with any cosmetic procedure it is important to be as educated as possible about the process of body sculpting. Understanding the procedure, the recovery, the expectations of the surgeon and recognizing a quality cosmetic surgeon are all key factors in creating a good experience when it comes to body sculpting.
As popular as cosmetic surgery has become, and as efficient and effective as the surgeons have become, a quality surgeon is still vital. Just because a tumescent liposuction is a routine procedure for him doesn’t mean that it is for you. Finding a plastic surgeon that can treat his patients as individuals with real needs is rare. Knowing how to go about finding the right plastic surgeon is even rarer. It’s more than just picking a name from a phone book. Learn the right questions to ask your surgeon candidates to minimize the potential of a poor surgical experience.
Optimizing your information and finding the right procedure for you takes some knowledge as well. Just because someone you know had tumescent liposuction doesn’t necessarily mean that you are a good liposuction candidate. Learning the right questions once again can help narrow down what might be best for you and your body overall.
Knowing where to turn to find the information you need to make intelligent and informed decisions is just as important as deciding on the procedure itself. Solid, groundbreaking information is vital to making any decision about your body or your health. Just because we are talking about your overall cosmetic health doesn’t make the decisions you come to any less important. Don’t walk into a surgeon’s office unprepared to ask the vital questions. Get the information you need in order to ask the right questions.
One of the best and most complete ways to educate yourself about upcoming procedures, or even body sculpting that you are simply considering is to find an all inclusive website designed to give you the knowledge you need. Understanding what questions to ask and how to go about finding a top notch doctor are all part of the information process.
The all inclusive web site that can offer you all of your educational needs is lifeplasticsurgery. What Is A Tummy Tuck and Why Do I Need It?
By Rose Lindy
A tummy tuck, also known as abdominoplasty, is a major surgical procedure that is performed to remove excess skin and fat from the stomach and tightens the abdominal muscles. Sometimes, no matter how hard they try, people are not able to get a nice firm abdomen no matter how much the exercise and diet. For this reason, the tummy tuck has become a very popular cosmetic surgery procedure.
As with most surgeries, there are different types of tummy tucks available. When you meet with your surgeon or with anyone you are considering to be your surgeon, they should willingly go over the different procedures so you can choose what will be best for your situation. The differences between the various types of tummy tucks are how large the incisions are and how much work needs to be done. For example, a full tummy tuck procedure encompasses the entire abdominal area from the lower rib cage to the top of the pelvis. A mini tummy tuck is a procedure that is done on the abdominal area below the belly button. There is also an endoscopic tummy tuck available. The advantage to this is a very small incision that can be easily concealed and much quicker recovery time.
Not everyone will be a candidate for tummy tuck surgery. Good candidates are within 30% of their weight goal. If you are planning on losing a lot more weight you should postpone having a tummy tuck done until you are within 30% of your goal. You should be physically healthy and understand the associated risks involved with the surgery. You need to be able to take the time off from work to heal properly. Understand that in many instances this procedure is not covered by your insurance company so you need to be able to afford the expense.
When you meet with your surgeon they will ask many questions and give you a physical examination to determine if a tummy tuck is right for you. When you are looking for a surgeon be sure to do as much research as possible. Try to get referrals from your general practitioner or friends who have had a tummy tuck. Any reputable surgeon will prominently display their certifications for you to see. If the certifications are not easily available you should ask to see them. Choosing the right surgeon is very important so do not rush into anything, but make a careful decision.

Looking For A Younger Face
By Bobby Ryatt
“Secrets of how to look younger” Facial Cosmetic Surgery
We all would like to find that elusive fountain of youth, you know the one that will allow us to still gain intelligence but keep our youthful appearance. The face, of course is the first place that we would like to splash the magic water on so that we can have younger looking faces to meet the world.
Our face is also the first place to show signs of aging. It starts subtly, with just a few crow’s feet around the eyes and maybe one little determined wrinkle usually in the middle of the forehead. Signs of aging are frustrating, and often lead us to look for alternative paths to facial enhancement.
Facial enhancement is a surgical method of reducing the ever nasty signs of aging. It includes such procedures as brow lifts, face lifts, skin peels, and chemical peels. By focusing the cosmetic procedures on the face you can easily reduce the appearance of your age by anywhere between 5 and 20 years, depending on the facial structure and the initial appearance.
In today’s society, facial enhancement is becoming more popular than ever. At one time, facial cosmetic surgery was only considered for people with disfigurements or people over the age of fifty. Today however, people in their thirties are turning to plastic surgery to help reduce the appearance of their age.
“Secrets of how to look younger ” Effective and Simple Plastic Surgery
One of the easiest ways to address aging concerns is a simple brow lift. Brow lifts are one of the most performed procedures because of their effectiveness and their relative ease, both for the plastic surgeon as well as for the recovery of the patient.
A brow lift involves a very simple series of incisions that allow the surgeon to remove or smooth the tissue under the forehead. This results in a more open appearance of the eye, which automatically makes us look younger. It reduces or eliminates tiny wrinkles around the eyes that are attributed to aging.
Brow lifts require minimal recovery time and are considered one of the least invasive forms of cosmetic surgery available. Their basic simplicity has allowed for very few complication errors and surgeons consider them nominal.
With the onset of Botox and similar methods of wrinkle reduction, it would be reasonable to believe that brow lifts have lost their popularity. Botox is a treatment that must be repeated and often the signs of aging return prior to the next appointment. However, brow lifts are a fairly permanent solution to the again eye syndrome.
“Secrets of how to look younger” Brows or Face?
With the ease considered in the brow lift, why would one ever consider a face lift? A face lift is based on the same principle. The surgery however, covers a larger area of the face to include the eyes, mouth, and chin. A face lift removes or nearly removes facial wrinkles throughout the entire face. This makes it a procedure that many opt for, based solely on how much of the face is showing the ever dreaded signs of aging.
How do you know which one is appropriate for you? A good plastic surgeon can certainly help in the decision making process, however if you look at yourself in the mirror you can probably asses the situation for yourself. Obviously if your mouth and eyes are showing wrinkles and sagging, it is more likely that you would benefit from an entire facelift whereas if all you really notice is some droop in the eyes, a brow lift should take care of the issue.
“Secrets of how to look younger” Facial Reconstruction
The beauty of cosmetic surgery is that often a person who has been disfigured either from accident, disease, or birth defect, has the opportunity for a better quality of life. Facial cosmetic surgery offers both children and adults the chance at a more positive life without the stigma of disfigurement.
Science is now even making strides toward face transplants in an effort to relieve skin diseases and accident victims from the damage that was incurred. This method of facial reconstruction will offer people an amazing potential for a higher quality of life as well as relief from their pain.
“Secrets of how to look younger beautiful” Reconstructing the Face
Reconstructing the face often means more than just altering the position or quality of the skin. Often you can have your entire face reconstructed, for the cost. Facial reconstructions are painful and expensive. It involves breaking the nose, and the cheek bones in order to reposition the structure of the face.
Typically these procedures are done to correct damage from an accident, and although are rarely done they can reconstruct an entire face for aesthetic purposes. There is a lot to be considered when performing such radical plastic surgery procedures. Skin is living tissue, and great care must be exercised in order to prevent the skin from dying after surgery. There are vascular issues that require extensive procedural expertise before even contemplating a total facial reconstruction.
Total facial reconstruction, while immortalized in movies and television as a method for criminals to elude authorities from capture, is actually a method of restoration that has been used on patients of facial bone cancers. Often this horrendous disease attacks children and part of the facial bone must be removed. Being able to restore the face allows these patients a shot at a more normal life.
Total facial reconstruction only reached the aesthetic cosmetic surgery field when there was enough evidence that procedures could be taught in medical school and perfected prior to operating on patients. Many surgeons however, refuse to perform them except in cases of disfigurement. There are much more conservative methods of making a face prettier.
“Secrets of how to look younger beautiful” Chemical Peels
Chemical peels are considered a less evasive procedure that has its benefits within the medical community. Though it is still classified as cosmetic surgery, Chemical Peels are known to be effective in removing pre cancerous age spots known as keratoses.
Chemical peels are also used for age spots, skin tone, and finer wrinkles, but some insurance companies are now covering at least part of the procedure as preventative care because of its links in decreasing potential skin cancers.
Skin that was badly damaged by previous acne can also benefit from chemical peels. It has been used to control acne as well. The idea of a chemical peel is to treat the skin with a special blend of chemicals that remove the outer layer. Chemical peels do not slow or prevent aging, but they can improve the look of skin as we age. Chemical peels are typically a process applied at weekly or biweekly intervals with less intensive methods applied at home in between peels.
Chemical peels may result in pigment alterations of the skin, although they have not been known to bleach out the skin entirely. Typically the skin and the pigment production will adjust to the treatments over time. Sun exposure over in the first several months of treatment can result in severe burns. It is important to protect the new layers of skin not only from the sun, but from exposure to harsh facial scrubs as well. Chemically peeled skin should be treated as one would a baby’s fresh skin.
“Secrets of how to look younger beautiful” Understanding Facial Cosmetic Surgery
When trying to obtain a younger and firmer look to the facial skin, a person is faced with numerous options. One of the best ways to make a decision about cosmetic facial surgeries is to spend some time educating yourself about the options and procedures before committing to a doctor or a procedure.
The internet offers more powerful tools than ever before in researching information and finding quality answers. Of course, the web content must be trusted.

Finding The Facts - Cosmetic Surgery

By Bobby Ryatt
It is an unfortunate fact that in today’s society there is a demand for attractive features in the workplace, in social circles, and in most everyday events. It is a well known fact that the more attractive the individual, the more chances for success are opened to them. Whether it is a hot topic for aggressive debate or a simple accepted fact of life, more and more people are turning to the art of cosmetic plastic surgery to perfect their imperfections.
While most cosmetic surgery is considered an elective procedure and is not covered under medical insurance, more and more insurance companies are covering at least part if not all of the cost of cosmetic procedures for what qualifies as disfigurement. The insurance companies themselves have realized, given the statistics, that reasonably attractive people typically have higher paying jobs and a higher quality of life, which overall reduces the costs of medical issues such as depression and obesity related health concerns.
THE RIGHT PLASTIC SURGEON FOR YOU
Plastic surgery is a decision that requires not only a tremendous amount of consideration in regards to the personal body, but a huge decision when it comes to picking the right doctor. Deciding whether plastic surgery is the right personal decision can be daunting. Finding discomfort with a body part is normal, everyone has body image issues. If the image you have of yourself is grounded in accuracy and you weigh the risks carefully and decide that plastic surgery is right for you, it is now time to understand the steps of finding a good doctor.
The cosmetic plastic surgery industry has grown by over 50% in just the last five years. People are discovering the resources to change their outward appearance. It is important to remember that changing the outward appearance does not change the inner individual. Sometimes it’s just a new nose. Sometimes that new nose brings about an air of confidence that was previously lacking, and therein lies the emotional change that most are seeking.
There are many factors that go into finding the right cosmetic surgical practice. With cosmetic surgery centers becoming ever more popular, avoiding some basic pitfalls is becoming more difficult rather than easier. The doctor, their experience with the elected procedure, the risks associated with the procedure, and the expected recovery time and restrictions are some, but not all of the considerations one must face when determining if plastic surgery is right for them.
The right plastic surgeon makes all the difference. We have all seen the horror television shows of plastic surgery mistakes, and there’s not a single potential patient that doesn’t want to avoid that scenario. Choosing the right plastic surgeon is a process that requires research, time, patience, and often money. Fortunately for those who have a want or a need for a plastic surgeon now have a resource to assist them in finding the right doctor for them. Beyond that, understanding cosmetic surgical procedures is equally as vital. Wouldn’t it be wonderful if you could research all your cosmetic surgery needs in one place?
LIFE PLASTIC SURGERY
At lifeplasticsurgery, a phenomenal resource website for understanding cosmetic procedures, physician practices, and general information regarding this life altering process. There are risks and benefits to all plastic surgery procedures. An informed consumer can typically make a better judgment concerning the risk benefit ratio.
Whether you are in search of a simple Rhinoplasty or a need for the correction of a disfigurement, not every plastic surgeon has the exact skills for every procedure. It may also be possible to find lower cost surgery for disfigurement, depending on the surgeon. In some cases it can be possible to find nearly no cost assistance for disfigurement plastic reconstructive surgery. Lifeplasticsugery is great place to start when deciding whether or not plastic and reconstructive surgery is right for you.
Aesthetic plastic surgery is a finite practice of skill, knowledge, and artistic quality. Most that have undergone cosmetic enhancement have been pleased with the physical results, but also with the impact it has had on their lives. As unfortunate as it may be, we live in a world where how you appear on the outside influences what people assume is on the inside.
Physical appearance plays a role in nearly every aspect of life. Beautiful people tend to land more attractive partners, have more friends, land higher paying jobs, and operate in the world with more self confidence. Whether this point is fair and right is irrelevant. We can not change the way the world views us, we can only decide how much impact it is going to have on our lives.
Those with physical deformities, whether birth defect related or accidental disfigurement, have an even harder time coping in a world where physical appearance affects so much in our daily lives. Unfair and often inaccurate determinations are made about a person’s intelligence when they are afflicted with a disability. Those who have experience the remarkable transformation of corrective plastic surgery have experienced a new world of options opened to them.
The articles included in Lifeplasticsurgery database are a breath of fresh air in their informative organization. Navigating the website is simple, and you can find information on various procedures such as nose jobs, tummy tucks, brow lifts and liposuction. There are also remarkably explicit and informative articles on most relevant subjects, including recovery. Recovering from cosmetic surgery is an area of expertise that quite often gets overlooked. In fact, so many cosmetic practices forget to periodically remind their patients that cosmetic surgery is in fact, surgery. It comes with the same risks as any procedure requiring anesthesia and requires a recovery period.
DON’T FORGET “THE FACTS OF PLASTIC SURGERY”
Any surgical procedure that alters the body is going to involve some amount of pain. There are a surprising number of patients who never consider this factor. Any surgical procedure that alters the body is going to require specific recovery restrictions and time to heal. It is paramount that it is understood prior to electing to have any cosmetic surgical procedure done that the recovery process is well understood and the expectations of the surgeon are realistic.
The patient who has a realistic understanding of the procedure to be performed as well as a high level of knowledge about the anticipated results and recovery is more likely to have a quality experience when it comes to plastic surgery. The patient that takes it upon him or her self to obtain the necessary knowledge to educate themselves runs a much higher likelihood of being completely satisfied with the results. The patient who pulls a random doctor from the phone book and has not educated themselves about the risks and the realistic outcomes is likely to be more dissatisfied with the results. As well, they are more likely to be in complete shock with the high level of pain they experience waking up from anesthesia.
It is important to realize that most cosmetic surgery physicians have not been patients. These procedures appear to the physician, in most cases, routine. Regardless of whether you’re having teeth pulled, your eyebrows lifted, or an entire reconstructive package, when it is your body it is never routine. The questions provided and the scope of the articles written on Lifeplasticsurgery give the potential patient a wonderful springboard for narrowing down different prospective doctors.
The education process associated with Life plasticsurgery.com is illustrated in its rich topics, the news links, and the high quality physician and association links. The ease of the website’s use allows a potential patient to absorb quite a bit of information in a relatively short period of time. And of course, a compatible plastic surgeon makes for a much more reasonable experience overall.

By Kelly Price
Cellulite is a condition that most women worry about, with about 90% of women suffering from it.

You need to nourish your skin and stop fat cells from becoming to prominent and for this you will need to do the following:
1. Diet Changes
To keep the skin cells healthy you need to be hydrated.
Make sure you drink plenty of fresh water and combine this with foods that contain lecithin, essential fatty acids, antioxidants and vitamin B, to help nourish your skin cells and keep them in peak condition.
Good foods are:
Oily fish, fresh fruit and vegetables.
Try and eat as “naturally from the earth” as possible and avoid heavily processed foods and sugars that break the skin cells down.

Coloring Hair Technique: Tips-Toes to Color Your Hair Right
By Michael Douglas
Gone are the days when you had to live with the natural color of your hair all your life. While it is extremely tempting to color your hair as your fashion models and movie stars, it must be remembered that the star might be sporting a quality wig but you will be stuck with that color of hair for at least a few months! Your favourite star might have streaked reds or blonde highlights or indeed one block of color, but you have to choose wisely to be able to live with it comfortably, for a while at least. Yes, highlights might be passe right now but some women still feel more comfortable with that rather than with one solid color.
Hair-care regime:
Even without coloring or loading any other chemicals onto your hair, it is advisable to take essential care of the hair to maintain its health and bounce.
1) Regular hair massage once a week should be mandatory. Use slightly warm oil and massage it well onto the scalp without stressing the hair too much. The massage should increase and improve the blood circulation. Though there is no need to make vigorous movements, it is advisable to do it in a manner in which you feel a mild tingling on the scalp.
2) Your hair products should be appropriate for your hair. Use mild products as far as possible and deal with any scalp problems immediately - dandruff and itchy scalp should never be ignored.
3) If you wash your hair more often than twice a week, ensure that he products you are using are appropriate for frequent use.
4) Hair conditioners are important as they provide a final layer of protection and nourishment. Choose one that is appropriate for your hair type and is the personalised requirement of any treatment or coloring you use.
5) Check the chemical contents of the products you use. If your hair feels lustreless, frizzy or heavy, use home remedies and ingredients like fenugreek, yoghurt or cucumber juice, once again going by your individual needs.
The right choice:
When the choice is very wide, it adds to the confusion. The choice of hair color should be dictated by other features of your personality. These include your hairstyle, your lifestyle and your expectations from your hair.
If you have light hair and you want the bounce of a movie's star's hair, it will not magically appear with the identical colour the star uses. Color also depends on your complexion. If you have the typical Indian complexion, you are lucky as you can choose from among the rich tones of chocolate to sandy blondes. You also have the option to go for chestnuts shades and dark red tones.
Personal choice above fashion:
While it is good to be in tune with the times, you cannot ape something an idol is doing.
However charming a particular color looks on screen, if you don't feel a 100 per cent comfortable with it, then avoid it. Haircuts and styles need to be regularly trimmed and checked.
Find a stylist you can trust and who understands your basic requirement. If you are a doctor or a corporate lawyer by profession, having a funky hairstyle might seem like a fun thing to do but it will not gel with your professional style.
Little tricks go a long way:
The best outfit and most meticulous makeup will be ineffective if your hair is not making sweeping statements about your style and beauty. Try these tips to enhance your mane beauty:
- Root volumisers work at the root level. They come in gel, mousse and even spray versions. To use this effectively, lift your hair and apply directly to the roots of the hair that has been towel dried. Most of these formulations have directions on how to use them for maximum benefit, so read and use.
- Blow dry your hair when necessary and do it at the root level. Use a rounder and thicker brush to give your hair a lift while drying it. Avoid very hot air. Keep the drier at the mid-level of heat.
- Use a hair spray that does not make your hair look and feel stiff. Ideally, it should provide a boost, not stiffen the hair.
- You may use concealed pin curls to create volume on curly or coarse tresses. Finger comb your hair after styling it and avoid using a brush.
- Opt for deeper and richer hair colour tones. Use only a few highlights and apply a single color in the shade of your choice - reds, browns and burgundies suit most Indian faces and styles.
- Monochromatic colour on hair will make it appear flatter. Color adds the perception of lift even when it is not there.
- If you have an important date or a function to attend, style or cut your hair four to five days earlier so that you are comfortable with it.

Mineral Makeup: Give Your Face A Treat

By Tom Garimentis
My wife holds a cosmetology license and spends a considerable time keeping up with the latest trends in the cosmetic industry. She attends the local beauty supply store at least every week and is required to attend ongoing training classes. When I recently came across an article on mineral makeup, and I thought I'd spotted something first. Assuming a negative response, I asked her if she'd ever heard of it.
Instead she began telling me more information than I can remember all about mineral cosmetics. As it turns out, this is one of the hottest sellers at the beauty supply store -- they can't seem to keep enough on the shelves.
This makes sense. I would imagine the natural cosmetics industry to follow along with the popularity of the organic and whole foods market. But why is mineral makeup becoming so popular? Well, women love it for two main reasons.
For starters, mineral cosmetics aren't composed of the traditional gunk of over-the counter makeup. Most cosmetics are manufactured synthetically and are thus composed of unnatural chemicals. A woman's complexion typically suffers as a result. It then becomes an endless cycle: women must wear an increasing amount of makeup to cover up the blemishes caused by the previous application.
Secondly, mineral makeup actually looks better. Now it is hard to prove this scientifically, but my wife -- along with countless other women -- swear that a woman's complexion resembles that of airbrushed model when wearing mineral makeup. Yes, these minerals are much healthier for the skin. But the real draw is the brilliant beauty that results from these natural substances.
Many companies have begun manufacturing mineral cosmetics. One thing you will soon discover is these are priced noticeably higher than traditional makeup. More and more women are willing to pay the premium to protect and beautify their faces.
